It is important to follow the after care plan given by your practitioner after receiving laser tattoo removal. Avoid sunlight exposure, minimize routine exercise, reduce alcohol consumption, and drink lots of water. Also, make sure to avoid hot tubs, high water pressure, and shaving the treated area for several days. Most importantly keep the area clean and dry. Apply the given ointment 2x daily for 3 days.
The most common side effects of laser tattoo removal are redness, blistering, swelling, bruising, and scabs.
Laser tattoo removal typically involves some level of pain. That said, most say it hurts less than expected and is comparable to having a tattoo applied. Everyone has a different pain tolerance level. We have options for pain management. The most effective being our Zimmer Chiller which blasts -30 degree air directly to the treatment area during the procedure when you need it most. Ice packs can be used before and after the procedure but not during. The least effective method would be numbing creams being they work on the top layer of skin when the laser works at a deeper level of skin.
The laser delivers short pulses of high-intensity light to the treated area. The ink then absorbs the light without destroying the surrounding skin tissue in the process. The tattoo is dissolved into smaller ink particles that are harmlessly removed by your body's immune system following treatment.
That depends on the size and depth of the tattoo. We highly recommend a free consultation, it is difficult to tell you how many sessions without one. Multiple laser treatments are required to remove a tattoo, with an average number of 6 to 12 treatments. During your consultation, we will evaluate how many sessions to expect based on the size and darkness of your tattoo.
Typically, tattoo removal can take anywhere from 9 months or more to achieve. Please note it is possible to remove sky blue and yellow but they are more difficult than others to remove.
The cost depends on the size of the tattoo. The number of sessions depends on factors such as depth, age, colors used, and location of the tattoo. Free consultations are available to go over pricing and financing options.
